Offer capped or unavailable: what to check

Updated

View as Markdown

A capped offer has taken all the new users it accepts today, and it reopens on its own at the reset. Until then, move users to another offer. Paused, ended and access-locked offers don’t come back at a set time, so check the offer’s page to see which one you have.

Checks, most likely first

  1. It’s capped for today

How to confirm: In Offers, the row reads Capped for today and Reopens at a time in the cap’s own time zone, such as midnight EDT, and its button reads View offer. The offer’s page says it reached its daily cap and holds the tracking link back until then.

Fix: Choose Run it now: open copies of this offer to find another copy of the same app that’s still open. Otherwise wait for the reset. Users who already started keep going: a cap counts new users, and later steps still post back. How caps work: Daily caps.

  2. It’s paused or out of budget

How to confirm: The offer’s page shows Offer paused, or the offer drops off your Offer API list without being capped.

Fix: Move users to another offer. We can’t say when the advertiser will start it again, so turn on Email alerts, then Offer stopped, to hear about the next one.

  3. It ended

How to confirm: The offer’s page shows Offer expired, or Offer not found with a note that it may have been removed or is no longer assigned to your account.

Fix: Take it off your screens. Links outlive offers, so users who tap an old card land on “This offer has ended”, which tells them to go back and pick another one.

  4. You don’t have access to it

How to confirm: The badge at the top of the offer’s page reads Approval required, Access pending, Access rejected, Access unavailable or Private offer, and the tracking link isn’t shown.

Fix: For Approval required, choose Request offer access. A declined request shows a note under it: read it before you ask again. For the others, email us if you expected access.

  5. Your saved cards are out of date

How to confirm: You keep offer cards between Offer API calls, and users tap ones that have since filled or ended.

Fix: Before you show saved cards, check them with GET /publisher/offers/availability?ids=... and hide any that read available: false. capResetsAt says when a cap’s count resets, not that the offer will be back; check again after it.

  6. Your own daily limit filled

How to confirm: The offer is open for others, but not for you. Some accounts have their own daily limit on an offer, set by us or by the network they work with.

Fix: It resets with the offer’s day. Email us, or ask your network, if you need a higher limit.
