Payouts

See what each step pays before a player starts.

Install-paid games pay you once, at install, unless your account is paid per step. Event-paid offers list each step's price.

Tidewater Putt

Paid on each of 3 events, nothing at install

Your postback
Finish chapter 1 chapter_1 $0.60 &goal_id=chapter_1&payout=0.60
&goal_id=chapter_1 &payout=0.60
Reach level 25 level_25 $1.50 &goal_id=level_25&payout=1.50
&goal_id=level_25 &payout=1.50
Buy starter pack starter_pack $4.00 &goal_id=starter_pack&payout=4.00
&goal_id=starter_pack &payout=4.00
You earn, all three steps $6.10

Same figure as each goal's effectivePayoutUsd in the Offer API.

01Two payout types

Paid once at install, or paid per step.

Which one applies depends on how the offer pays and how your account is set up. Here is the same 12-step game both ways.

Paid at install
We pay you $4.20 when a player installs Harbor Blocks. The 11 steps after it pay you $0, and each still sends a postback with a suggested player reward.
Paid per step
The install pays you $0. Each step after it pays you when the player reaches it. Our team sets some accounts up this way.

Offers the advertiser prices per event list what each event pays you, on either kind of account.

Later steps send a postback with a suggested player reward in user_payout. They don't pay you; what players get is your call.

02Shown equals paid

One number, three places.

For one offer on one account, your offers list, the Offer API and your postback carry the same payout. If two ever disagree, that's a bug, and we treat it as one.

01 Your offers list
Harbor Blocks Paid once, on the install $4.20
02 The Offer API
GET /publisher/offers
{
  "name": "Harbor Blocks",
  "isPaidOnInstall": true,
  "effectivePayoutUsd": 4.20,
  "goals": [ ... ]
}
03 Your postback
GET api.pebble.example/afos/postback
?action_id=act_5Hc81Q
&sub_id=u_48213
&status=completed
&payout=4.20
&user_payout=0.00
&conversion_name=Install

On the Hosted Offerwall the card shows the player's reward in your currency. The postback's payout and user_payout carry that reward in US dollars, and your earnings are in revenue.

03Dropped steps

When a step disappears mid-game.

Advertisers sometimes remove a step while players are partway through. Through the Offer API and tracking links, if a player still reaches it and we've sent you that step before, we still send the postback: payout=0, with the player reward we last sent for it in user_payout, so you can credit your player.

How offer alerts work

04Every line

Check every line behind the total.

Every credit and every reversal shows in your Conversions report, by action ID. Your earnings are in dollars, net of reversals.

  1. 01 Credits

    Every conversion is a line

    Date, action ID, offer, step, sub ID, status and your payout. The action ID is the same one your postback carried.

  2. 02 A reversal

    A reversal lands on the conversion's day

    On Oct 22 we reverse an Oct 16 install after its account turns out to share a phone with other accounts. The reversal is its own line under the same action ID, dated Oct 16, with its reason, and takes back exactly what the credit paid.

Questions

What publishers ask about payouts.

Something else? Email hello@affiliateos.ai.

Where do I see what I've earned?

Your dashboard shows earnings in dollars, net of reversals, by day, week or month. Conversions lists every line behind them, by action ID, and you can download it as a CSV.

How do I know which way an offer pays me?

Your offer list says it on every row, in the How it pays column: for example Paid once, on the install or Paid on each of 3 events. The offer page lists each step's amount.

What if a step is dropped mid-game?

Through the Offer API and tracking links, if we've sent you that step before, we still send its postback when the player reaches it: payout=0, with the player reward we last sent for it in user_payout, so you can credit your player. You aren't paid for a step the advertiser no longer lists.

What does a reversal take back?

Exactly what the credit paid, not today's price. It's dated on the day of the conversion, and you get a reversal postback with the same action_id and, when one is recorded, the reason.

Which currency?

We pay in US dollars. On the Hosted Offerwall your players see rewards in your own currency at the rate you set, like 1,000 pebbles per $1.

Can a conversion be held?

Yes. A conversion from a user our traffic checks rejected is held and pays nobody. If your account uses the device check, a conversion waits until the check clears it or a person reviews it.

Your total is the sum of its lines.
