Offerwalls

Tapjoy vs Digital Turbine

How the two offerwalls compare for app developers and advertisers, and a third option with a public offer API that needs no SDK.

The short answer

  • Choose Tapjoy if

you want an SDK wall with named reward controls, like a geo multiplier and tiered exchange rates.

you want multi-reward and daily-reward game campaigns with per-app bids, run through Unity.

  • Choose Digital Turbine if

you use FairBid, or want content filters per placement, such as a survey-only wall.

you want to sign up yourself and bid and block per app, or run web lead, survey or trial offers next to app installs.

  • Choose if

you want offers in your own UI from public API docs, or a Hosted Offerwall link, with no SDK required.

you want to test each event free before you spend, start from a $50 balance and see each channel's cost under a code.

Sign-up is by request. We reply by email.

Test events are free. Verify each required event before you go live.

What Tapjoy and Digital Turbine each are.

Tapjoy

Tapjoy is a rewarded offerwall that Unity now owns: ironSource bought it in January 2022, and Unity merged with ironSource that November.2122 Publishers add the wall by SDK or as a web link.12 Advertisers pay when a user completes an offer, with bids from $0.20 to $100 per event.913 Publishers can set a geo multiplier and tiered exchange rates for their currency.9

03Head to head

Tapjoy vs Digital Turbine, head to head. One bottom line for each question.

01

Adding the wall

Tapjoy ships SDKs for five platforms and a web wall you open as a link on a site, in an iframe or in an app webview.12 Digital Turbine puts its wall inside the DT FairBid SDK, with a REST API for your own UI whose docs come from an account manager.34

AffiliateOS needs no SDK. Pull offers from the Offer API or the ranked Top Offers Feed, with public docs, or open a Hosted Offerwall link with your user's ID.

Bottom line

All three can run without an SDK. Only our offer API docs are public; Digital Turbine's come from an account manager, and Tapjoy's web wall renders its own UI.

The AffiliateOS publisher Offers screen, each offer showing how it pays and what you earn, such as Kelpie Bank, paid on each of 2 events, up to $32.00, and Driftwall VPN, $9.25 per action, each with a Get offer button.
The same offers the API returns, in the publisher app: how each pays, and what you earn.
02

Reward controls

Tapjoy names its controls after what they do: a geo multiplier for the exchange rate by country, tiered exchange rates and currency sales.9 Digital Turbine filters what each placement shows, down to a survey-only wall.10

On the AffiliateOS Hosted Offerwall you set your currency's name and how much of it a dollar buys. Rewards show to your users in that currency.

Bottom line

Tapjoy builds a geo multiplier and tiered rates into its wall, and Digital Turbine filters each placement. On ours you set the currency's name and rate.

03

Postbacks

Digital Turbine calls your reward endpoint and retries up to 10 times until it gets a success.12 Tapjoy's web wall setup includes a currency postback.11

Every AffiliateOS postback is signed with HMAC‑SHA256 over the full URL, and without an active secret we don't send one. A reversal arrives as its own postback, with a reason when we have one.

Bottom line

Check a signature on every credit, and get reversals pushed to you.

01

Billing

Tapjoy says you pay when a user completes an offer.9 Digital Turbine bills completions at your bid, and on multi-reward campaigns you split that bid across events.14

AffiliateOS also charges per event: the price you set, when your server reports it and we can tie it to one of our clicks.

Bottom line

All three bill on completion. Per-event pay isn't the difference here.

The AffiliateOS campaign screen listing three events with their keys and prices: Level 10 at $5.00 awaiting a test, First purchase at $8.00 verified, and Completed tutorial, optional, at $1.50 awaiting a test.
Events you pay for, with Send test next to each one still awaiting a test. A test is never charged.
02

Control by source

Digital Turbine lets you bid per app and per country, sort metrics per app and block apps and publishers yourself.1920 Tapjoy lets you bid per app,18 and you can send Unity's review team a publisher app allowlist and blocklist with your ad set.13

AffiliateOS shows cost and results per channel under a code instead of the publisher's name. You can report a channel and our team reviews it; you can't block one yourself.

Bottom line

Only Digital Turbine documents a block tool you run yourself. On Tapjoy the list goes through Unity's review. Ours shows what each channel cost, and our team reviews what you report.

03

Reach

Neither publishes a current reach figure for its offerwall, as of 29 October 2026, and both are larger than us. Digital Turbine also reaches people on the device itself, through carriers and phone makers.23

AffiliateOS reaches rewarded apps, offerwalls and sites we approve.

Bottom line

Their reach is larger. If reach decides it, start with them.

05The honest part

Where we fit, and where we don't.

AffiliateOS fits if

  • Your users sign in, and you pass their ID on every click.
  • You can check a signed postback before you credit a user.
  • You're happy for our team to set which offers your account can run.

Tapjoy or Digital Turbine fits better if

  • You need a mediation SDK or rewarded video.
  • You want to sign up yourself, with no request.
  • You want reward controls like a geo multiplier built into the wall.

AffiliateOS fits if

  • You can send events from your server, or forward them from your attribution tool.
  • You're fine seeing each channel's cost under a code, not a publisher's name.
  • You can wait for our review before a campaign goes live.

Tapjoy or Digital Turbine fits better if

  • You need their reach, or reach on the device itself.
  • You want to bid and block per app yourself.
  • You need publisher names in your reports.

07Questions

Tapjoy vs Digital Turbine: questions, sources and method.

Which is better, Tapjoy or Digital Turbine?

Which side of the wall you're on decides this one.

For publishers: choose Tapjoy if you want an SDK wall with named reward controls, like a geo multiplier and tiered exchange rates. Choose Digital Turbine if you use FairBid, or want content filters per placement, such as a survey-only wall.

For advertisers: choose Tapjoy if you want multi-reward and daily-reward game campaigns with per-app bids, run through Unity. Choose Digital Turbine if you want to sign up yourself and bid and block per app, or run web lead, survey or trial offers next to app installs.

Is Tapjoy part of Digital Turbine?

No. They're separate companies' products: Tapjoy belongs to Unity, and Digital Turbine runs its own wall, DT Offer Wall.

Who owns Tapjoy now?

Unity, as of 29 October 2026. ironSource bought Tapjoy in January 2022, and Unity completed its merger with ironSource on 7 November 2022.

Is DT Offer Wall the old Fyber wall?

Yes. Digital Turbine bought Fyber in May 2021, and DT Offer Wall comes from that purchase.

Does Tapjoy need an SDK?

Not always. Tapjoy has a web offerwall you open as a link on a site, in an iframe or in an app webview.

Does AffiliateOS need an SDK?

No. Use the Offer API, the Top Offers Feed, a Hosted Offerwall link or Offer Links, where our team picks offers and sends the links.

Which step of a game install offer pays me?

The install. A game offer paid per install pays you once, at install, and later steps reward the player. Offers paid per event list what each step pays.

Do all three charge advertisers on completion?

Yes. Tapjoy and Digital Turbine bill completed offers or events, and AffiliateOS charges each event you priced when it arrives.

Can I block apps on Tapjoy or Digital Turbine?

Digital Turbine documents a Blocked Apps Tool you run yourself. On Tapjoy you can send Unity's review team a publisher app allowlist and blocklist with your ad set.

Method

We read each company's own public pages on 29 October 2026: pricing pages, docs, help centers and terms, plus SEC filings where a company files them. We compared what each offers the same kind of buyer at list terms. We didn't use custom quotes, review sites or anything told to us privately. Facts about AffiliateOS come from our product as it runs today, explained in our developer docs.
