Why an offer ended or disappeared

Updated

View as Markdown

An offer that vanishes mid-day is often full for today or out of budget, and comes back on its own, usually at the next daily reset. If the advertiser ended the offer, it stays gone: its old links show the player “This offer has ended”, and you should take the card down.

Checks, most likely first

  1. Is it full for today?

How to confirm: search the offer’s ID on the Offers page. A full offer still shows there, marked Capped for today, with Reopens at and a time. From your server, ask GET /publisher/offers/availability?ids= with the ID: a full offer reads available: false, often with cap: 0 and a capResetsAt.

Fix: none needed. It comes back when the cap resets. On its offer page, Run it now: open copies of this offer searches the Offers page for copies of the same app you can run today. See Daily caps.

  2. Did another copy take its row?

How to confirm: search the game’s name on the Offers page, or call the Offer API with name= and your user’s country and platform. If the game is there under another id, a different copy won.

Fix: show the row that’s there now. Your players’ progress on the old copy isn’t lost: their steps still post back under the old offer_id. See How we pick which copy of an offer you see.

  3. Did it end?

How to confirm: open the offer’s page from its ID. It shows an Offer expired badge, or Offer not found when we no longer serve it at all. The availability check reads available: false, and a tap on its link shows “This offer has ended”.

Fix: take the card down. If the offer is listed again later, it returns to your Offer API list on its own, so rebuild cards from the list rather than from saved IDs.

  4. Did someone on your team hide it?

How to confirm: at the foot of the All list, open Blocked offers. Hidden offers are listed there. This is only on accounts where we’ve turned offer blocking on.

Fix: choose Restore. A hidden offer is also out of your Offer API list and your Hosted Offerwall, and its link refuses new taps, so restoring it brings all three back.

  5. Did your access change?

How to confirm: open the offer’s page. The badge reads Access pending, Access rejected or Access unavailable instead of Access approved, and the tracking link is held back with a note.

Fix: follow the note. Where the page offers Request offer access, request it; otherwise email us.

Players who were partway through

  • Their later steps still post back after the offer leaves your list, so keep crediting them from your postbacks.
  • Store offer_name, conversion_name and goal_id from every postback. Once an offer is gone you can’t look it up in the feed.
  • GET /publisher/offers/:offerId/ladder-history rebuilds the steps you were paid on for an offer we no longer hold, from your own conversions.
  • While an offer is only full or out of budget, GET /publisher/offers/:offerId still returns it, so a player’s in-progress view can keep its steps.

Hear about it next time

Open Email alerts in the portal and turn on Offer stopped. It emails you when an offer you earn on stops being available. Choose how long it must stay gone first (offers often drop off for a few minutes and come back), and tick Also tell me when it comes back.
