Four ways to run offers. Pick how much you build.

Sites and newsletters usually start with Offer Links. Rewarded apps usually start with the Hosted Offerwall.

Or start from what you run.

Payout math

What an offer pays you, and your player.

Every step carries two amounts: what you earn, and the reward for your player. On the Offer API your postback carries them as payout and user_payout.

Harbor Blocks Tidewater Games · iOS · 12 steps
Harbor Blocks, paid at install. What you earn and the player reward for each step. Example numbers.
Step You earn payout Player reward user_payout In your postback
01 Install and open $4.20 $0.00 No reward set. The install is yours. payout=4.20 · user_payout=0
02 Reach level 5 $0.00 $0.10 Set by the advertiser payout=0 · user_payout=0.10
03 Reach level 20 $0.00 $0.40 Set by the advertiser payout=0 · user_payout=0.40
Steps 4 to 11 $0.00 $0.50 to $1.20 Each set by the advertiser 8 postbacks, payout=0
12 Reach level 40 $0.00 $1.50 Set by the advertiser payout=0 · user_payout=1.50

On the Offer API you're paid $4.20 once, at install. Later steps carry rewards the advertiser set for your player, and each one still sends you a postback.

  1. 01

    Two fields, never added

payout is what you earn. user_payout is your player's reward. On the Hosted Offerwall your earnings arrive as revenue, and payout carries the reward.

  2. 02

    Set rewards pass through

Pass on a reward the advertiser set exactly as sent. On every other step, the install included, you choose what your player gets. On the Hosted Offerwall your players' share decides it: Pebble Rewards' wall shows Harbor Blocks as 2,100 pebbles and Tidewater Putt as 3,050.

  3. 03

    Reversals repeat the ID

If an advertiser takes a conversion back, we send a reversal postback with the same action_id. Your earnings show net of it.

In your portal

What you see after a player taps.

Flight Recorder traces a conversion from the click to your server's reply. Offer Health flags what's failing. Traffic Quality lists every user we reject, and why. Click Tracking carries your own IDs from the link to the postback.

How Reporting traces a conversion

Three promises

What we promise publishers.

  1. 01

The number you see is the number you're paid.

The offer list, the offer page, the Offer API and your postback carry the same payout.

    How payouts work
  2. 02

Advertisers never see which app or site you are.

They see your traffic as a channel ID, with its cost and results. Only our team can match a channel to your account.

    What advertisers see
  3. 03

Every user we reject is listed, with the reason.

Traffic Quality shows each one in your portal and over the API. A rejection expires 30 days after it was set.

    How we check traffic

Built by founders who built rewarded apps and offer networks before this.

Setup

Set up in three steps.

No SDK needed. A key or a link is all it takes.

  1. 01

    Request access.

Tell us what you run and where your users are. It goes straight to our team. We reply by email and set up your account.

  2. 02

Add the wall, or call the API.

Copy your offerwall snippet from Docs and fill in uid and country for each player. Or create a key under My Profile, API Keys and call GET /publisher/offers.

  3. 03

Add your postback and send a test.

Press Create postback secret, then Add postback with your URL. Save it and press Send test postback. We never send an unsigned postback.

GET /publisher/offers?segment=top&platform=iOS&country=US HTTP/1.1
x-api-key: pk_••••••••

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Content-Type: application/json

Questions

Questions publishers ask first.

More answers in the Help Center, or write to hello@affiliateos.ai.

Comparing offerwalls? Read AffiliateOS vs Tapjoy vs Digital Turbine.

How do apps earn from offers?

Advertisers pay for completed steps, such as an install or a sign-up. When your user completes one, we pay you the payout listed for that conversion, in dollars. A game offer paid per install pays you once, at install, and later steps reward the player. Offers paid per step list what each step pays. On every step where the advertiser didn't set a reward, you decide what your user gets. See the payout math.

Offerwall or Offer API, which should I use?

If you run a rewarded app, start with the Hosted Offerwall: one iframe or link, and we handle the list, the order and the reward math. Use the Offer API if you have your own offer screen: one server call returns every offer your account can run, and you choose what to show and in what order. Either way, conversions reach your server by postback.

What is an offerwall? covers the basics, and Choose how to show offers puts all four ways side by side.

Do I need an SDK?

No. The Hosted Offerwall opens from a link or an iframe, the Offer API is HTTPS with a key, and postbacks go from our server to yours.

Which countries do you cover?

Each offer carries its own country targeting, and some carry US state rules too. Send the player's country on every Offer API call and in your Hosted Offerwall link. Without it, players can see offers that aren't open in their country. On the Offer API, also send their state so the offers we restrict in that state are left out. The offers on this page are US. Tell us where your users are when you request access.

Can I hide offers?

Yes, once we switch blocking on for your account. Blocking an offer hides every listing of that brand, on every platform and in every country, from your Offer API results and your Hosted Offerwall. You can also filter the Offer API by category, platform and country.

What if a player says they weren't paid?

Open your Conversions page for the days they played, or export it, and look for their user ID: each conversion is listed with the user ID you sent. Then open that offer in Flight Recorder: it shows the click, each step the advertiser reported, what you earned and what your server replied. If the advertiser never reported the step, send us the user ID and the offer, and we'll ask the advertiser to check it.

Can I set what my players get?

Yes, on every step where the advertiser didn't set a reward. On the Hosted Offerwall you set your players' share and name your currency in the portal. On the Offer API you choose the share we send as user_payout, under My Profile, API user reward (install steps stay at $0), or apply your own rule to payout.

Will I know when an offer changes?

Yes. Get an email when an offer you run changes its payout or stops running. Each team member sets up their own alerts. On Offer Links, our team tells you in your Slack channel when new offers go live.

Where do I see what I've earned?

In your portal: what you've earned each day in dollars, net of reversals, and each payment under Billing. Questions about a payment go to hello@affiliateos.ai.

Tell us what you run.

Name your app or site and where your users are. We reply by email.
