# Marketplace or direct: see where an offer came from

Offers and the feed · For networks · Updated 30 October 2026
Web version: https://www.affiliateos.ai/help/offers/marketplace-or-direct

Your network dashboard splits **Offers** into **Marketplace** and **Direct**. Marketplace offers come to you from the AffiliateOS marketplace; direct offers are the ones your network added for advertisers you work with. On the Network API, `placement=marketplace` or `placement=direct` gives you the same split.

## Steps

### Offers, then Marketplace or Direct

In the sidebar, open **Offers**. It has three views:

| View | What it lists |
|---|---|
| **All Offers** | Marketplace and direct offers together |
| **Marketplace** | "Offers available from the AffiliateOS marketplace." |
| **Direct** | "Direct offers added to your network account." The page's title reads **Direct Offers**. |

Each view lists **Offer**, **Advertiser**, **Payout**, **Type**, **Platform** and **Status**. **Create Direct Offer** is on **All Offers** and **Direct**.

### Open an offer to check

An offer's page tells you which kind it is:

- **A direct offer** has **Edit offer details**. If it belongs to a campaign, a **Campaign** box names it, with **Go to Campaign View**.
- **A marketplace offer** is read-only. Its page says "This imported network offer is read-only. Direct offers can be edited from this page."

### Split them on the Network API

```bash
curl -G "https://affiliateos.xyz/network-api/offers" \
  -d placement=direct -d page=1 \
  -H "x-api-key: $NORTHFOLD_NETWORK_KEY"
```

Example for Northfold Media.

| `placement` | Returns |
|---|---|
| `all` | Both kinds. The same as leaving it out. |
| `marketplace` | Offers from the AffiliateOS marketplace |
| `direct` | Only direct offers your network added |

Direct rows also carry `campaignId` and `campaignName`, so you can group them by campaign.

### Check it worked

Take one row's `id` from `placement=direct` and paste it into **Search offers by name or ID** on **Direct**: it's there, with **Edit offer details** on its page.

## What your publishers see

Your publishers see marketplace and direct offers in one list, each under its AffiliateOS offer ID. They never see the source behind a marketplace offer or its upstream offer ID: not on their screens, not in their offer lists and not in their postbacks.

## Copies of the same app

A direct offer is never merged with a marketplace copy of the same app, so your own deal never disappears behind a marketplace listing. Marketplace copies of one app can merge with each other: see [How we pick which copy of an offer you see](https://www.affiliateos.ai/help/offers/which-copy-you-see).

> **Direct offers are yours to price.** Each goal of a direct offer has a **Revenue** and a **Publisher payout** that you type in when you create it, and you can change both later with **Edit offer details**, where they read **Revenue** and **Payout**. A marketplace offer's own terms are read-only.
