# Daily caps for your publishers

Running a network · For networks · Updated 30 October 2026
Web version: https://www.affiliateos.ai/help/networks/daily-caps-for-publishers

On offers that support it, you can cap how many base conversions, such as installs, one publisher may deliver each day. Open the publisher, choose **Assign Offers**, expand the offer, type a number in **Publisher daily allowance** and choose **Save daily cap**.

## Before you start

- The offer is assigned to that publisher and saved with **Save assignments**. Until then the row says to save the assignment first.
- The offer supports a daily cap. The **Daily cap** panel only appears on offers whose daily count we can track.

## Steps

### Publishers, then the publisher, then Assign Offers

Open **Publishers**, choose the publisher's row, then **Assign Offers**.

### Expand the offer

Choose the arrow beside the offer (**Expand offer settings**). Its **Daily cap** panel shows what the cap counts and where it stands today:

| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Base event | The one event the cap counts, usually the install. Later events from the same player don't count. |
| Reset timezone | The count starts again at midnight in this timezone |
| Next reset | When today's count ends |
| Offer remaining | What's left today of the offer's own daily cap, shared by everyone who runs it |
| Publisher remaining | What's left today for this publisher. It never exceeds Offer remaining. |
| Availability | **Available** or **Unavailable** to this publisher right now |

### Publisher daily allowance, then Save daily cap

Type a whole number and choose **Save daily cap**. `0` stops new starts for this publisher. To remove the limit, choose **Use offer cap**: the publisher then shares the offer's remaining count with your other publishers.

### Check it worked

**Publisher remaining** shows the new number. Right after a save the panel can show a short pending state while we count today's conversions so far; the offer stays unavailable to that publisher until it finishes.

Example: Northfold Media gives Pebble Rewards an allowance of 200 Harbor Blocks installs a day. At 9:00 PM, with 200 counted, Harbor Blocks reads **Unavailable** for Pebble Rewards until midnight in the reset timezone, while the offer still runs for Northfold Media's other publishers.

> **A cap stops new starts, not players already playing.** Players who started the offer before the cap filled keep their later steps. An allowance is a maximum, not a share of the offer's cap held for that publisher.

## What your publisher sees

On the Offer API, each capped offer carries `cap` (what's left today), `capResetsAt`, `capTimezone` and `capEventName`. Their dashboard shows when the offer reopens. Publishers can't change a cap themselves.

## Things to know

- Caps are saved apart from payouts. Changing one never changes the other.
- If the panel says **Daily caps are disabled for this network**, caps are switched off on our side right now. [Contact support](https://www.affiliateos.ai/contact?topic=support).
- When an offer's own daily cap fills, it leaves the list for every publisher until its reset: [Daily caps: why an offer leaves the feed mid-day](https://www.affiliateos.ai/help/offers/daily-caps).
